Apple has a new macOS Sierra update014 Archives and installing it will make you both happy and sad.
Apple has released macOS 10.12.2, the second major point update for its macOS Sierra desktop operating system since September.
SEE ALSO: Apple's massive emoji redesign arrives with iOS 10.2The new update brings with it several interesting new features and improvements. The redesigned emoji characters that iPhones received earlier this week with iOS 10.2 update, for instance, now also render perfectly on the desktop.
Also worthwhile is a fix for graphical issues that some users of new MacBook Pro models had complained about. They will also be able to take screenshots of the Touch Bar using CMD+Shift+6 combination or using the Grab app.
On top of that, the company says it has also improved the setup process of Auto Unlock feature, and the experience of using iCloud Desktop and Document feature.
Other things that Apple took a look into are somewhat poor audio quality when using Siri and FaceTime using Bluetooth headphones, and for those rare instances when people ran into issues when creating and ordering books using Photos app.
Which brings us to a slightly inconvenient change. The new update also removes the "remaining time" indicator from the battery status menu bar. People will just have to keep track of their laptop’s battery juice level by looking at the percentage in the menu bar.
There are some other tiny improvements as well, which you may want to look into.
Improves setup and reliability of Auto Unlock.
Allows addition of a Chinese Trackpad Handwriting button to the Touch Bar Control Strip.
Adds support for taking screenshots of the Touch Bar using the Grab app or Command-Shift-6 shortcut.
Fixes an issue that caused the Touch Bar emoji picker to appear on the display.
Resolves graphics issues on MacBook Pro (Late 2016) computers.
Fixes an issue where System Integrity Protection was disabled on some MacBook Pro (Late 2016) computers
Improves setup and opt-out experience for iCloud Desktop and Documents.
Fixes an issue with the delivery of Optimized Storage alerts.
Improves audio quality when using Siri and FaceTime with Bluetooth headphones.
Improves the stability of Photos when creating and ordering books.
Fixes an issue where incoming Mail messages did not appear when using a Microsoft Exchange account.
Fixes an issue that prevented installation of Safari Extensions downloaded outside the Safari Extensions Gallery.
Adds support for new installations of Windows 8 and Windows 7 using Boot Camp on supported Macs.
Fixes an issue that prevented some screen resolutions from being available on third-party displays.
Adds support for more digital camera RAW formats.
