The smartphones will be available for purchase from both Amazon India and Flipkart.
The mid-range Moto Z Play starts at Rs 24,999 ($375) whereas the flagship Moto Z will set you back by Rs 39,999 ($600). Both are modular smartphones, which means that you can connect swappable mods to them.
The mods are aimed at enhancing some of the most sought after features in smartphones but they cost extra. The JBL SoundBoost Speaker mod, for instance, is priced at Rs 6,999 ($105), whereas the Incipio offGRID Power Pack mod will set you back by Rs 5,999 ($90). The Instashare Projector mod and the Hasselblad True Zoom Camera mod are both priced at Rs 19,999 ($300) each.
To make things enticing for customers, Amazon India and Flipkart will be offering a 10 percent cashback to customers if they have a credit or debit card with certain banks. Both the ecommerce sites are also offering the phones at EMIs starting at Rs 2,084 ($31) for the Moto Z Play and Rs 3,334 ($50) for the Moto Z. Additionally, if you buy the Moto Z or Moto Z Play in a bundle with mods, you can get some extra discount.
The Moto Z features a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core-processor, and 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage and has a microSD card slot if you want more.
For your photography needs, there’s a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and laser auto-focus with optical image stabilization (OIS) and dual LED flash. On the front end, we have a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Other features include a 2,600mAh battery with Turbo Charging support, a fingerprint scanner, water-repellent nano-coating, and NFC and USB Type-C port. There’s no headphone jack, though.
The Moto Z Play sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display, and also features a Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. The Moto Z Play sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K recording capability. Other features include a dual-SIM card slot with USB Type-C port, and a 3510 mAh battery with turbo charging support.
