Amazon's everyday selection of Chromebook doorbusters leaves much to be desired for most of the year. And after a small spike in deals on a few decent low-end options from Acer, Asus, and Lenovo for Prime Big Deal Days on Oct. 8 and 9, we're back to extremely slim pickings. Don't be fooled by the models that are still on sale but sold by unfamiliar third-party merchants — we recommend skipping those.

However, Best Buy is picking up some of the Chromebook deals slack (as usual). Though its 48-Hour Flash Sale has also officially concluded, there are still a few higher-end Chromebook deals sticking around, including Chromebook Plus options. We're tracking it all below.

The 16-inch Chromebook Plus 516 GE (short for "gaming edition") is a newer version of one of Google's cloud gaming laptops. It's equipped with a vivid 120Hz display, a cool RGB keyboard, 256GB of storage, and a zippier Intel Core 5 processor than the previous version had. (FWIW, we even found the non-Plus model with the older processor to be quite the solid daily driver, so you know you're in good hands.)
