Tom Cruise could sounding sex videosbe going to space. Really.
On Tuesday, NASA Administrator Representative Jim Bridenstine confirmed rumors that the Academy Award nominee and Top Gunstar is working with agency scientists and engineers to produce a project from the International Space Station — reportedly an action adventure to be the first ever narrative movie filmed in space.
"NASA is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the ISS," Bridenstine tweeted. "We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make NASA's ambitious plans a reality."
The news was first reported by Deadline on Monday, and named both NASA and private aerospace manufacturer SpaceX as potential collaborators. Notably, SpaceX has plans to allow commercial space flight aboard its Crew Dragon capsule as early as 2021.
Bridenstine's statement is the first official confirmation of the project, and NASA has yet to release any additional information. Representatives for Cruise, SpaceX, and NASA did not immediately respond to Mashable's request for comment.

Per Deadline, Cruise is likely to star in the project, though it will not be an installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise. No studio is attached at present.
