Believe it or Woman Who Does as Her Oppa Wishesnot, Samsung is still not done unpacking its devices this year. On Wednesday, the company announced yet anothersmartphone at its fourth (yes, that's right, fourth)Unpacked event of 2020: the Samsung S20 Fan Edition (FE) 5G.
That name is truly a mouthful, I know.
Currently available for pre-order, and available Oct. 2, the phone packs some top-tier specs borrowed from its flagship phones. But this time, it comes at somewhat of an affordable starting price of $699 — when I say affordable, I mean in comparison to the Galaxy S20 and Note 20, which both start at $1,000.
On the front, the S20 FE packs a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display complete with Samsung's Infinity-O technology for minimal bezels. Additionally, it features a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother graphics while gaming and scrolling through content.
As for cameras, the phone has a 32-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera on the front. On the back is a triple-camera setup with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens (f/2.2 aperture), 12-megapixel wide-angle lens (f/1.8 aperture), and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
It also features Samsung's proprietary Space Zoom, which mixes optic zoom technology with software-based, AI digital zoom, which was first introduced on the S20 lineup. As with the S20 and Note20 devices, the S20 FE can zoom up to 30x.

It'll give you both sub-6 (for slower speeds) and mmWave capabilities (for faster speeds). The S20 FE will also run Android 10 at launch.
As for memory, it comes with 6BG of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD card slot with expandable storage up to 1TB.
Additionally, it has a 4,500mAh battery and fast wireless charging capabilities. But to take advantage of those charging speeds, you'll have to purchase a separate 25W charging brick. Sadly, it only comes with a 15W brick.
Similar to the Note20, the back of the phone is made of plastic but it does come in some fun colors. You'll have the choice between Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, Cloud White, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Orange, Cloud Red, and Cloud Orange.
Now, before you drop money on this phone, I'd recommend checking your trade-in options via Samsung's site. The company is offering up to $450 off the S20 FE with an eligible device, which means you can technically get the phone for $250. Butdepending on what phone you're trading in, you might also be able to get the Galaxy S20 for around $350.
While the S20 FE does have some powerful specs, particularly its processor, battery life, and refresh rate, it's worth weighing your options before smashing that pre-order button.
