It must be eroticism of the genre in the 1970scontinually frustrating trying to do some gardening and finding that your hose has been chopped off by people who are looking to get, um, a little chopped.
Julia McCall, a grandmother in Sydney, told Central Sydneyshe had been noticing bit of hose disappearing for years, usually cut from the middle as opposed to the end.

So McCall decided to leave a note with a bit of hose attached on her fence for would-be thieves: "Please don't chop my hose again. Help yourself to this bit for your bong," the note reads.
The note made the front page of one newspaper in Australia.

McCall hopes the note will make the people wanting to nick her gardening equipment a tad embarrassed, but it's also about tolerance.
"I thought it might bring a little shame to them, to stop pinching my hose like that, but it was also a bit of a joke, too, I suppose," she told the newspaper.
"I think in this day and age tolerance is a necessary component, isn't it? We all have to live with each other and if we can ease it a little, so much the better."
