He may not have Animation Archivesperformed on tour in nine years, but when Chris Rock returns to the standup comedy circuit in 2017, he will be back in his element.
After returning to the Oscar stage in 2016 and popping up across the comedy scene all year, Rock announced his Total Blackout tour, where he will once again perform fresh jokes in front of live audiences.
SEE ALSO: Will Ferrell will be starring in a comedy about esportsRock announced the tour in a nostalgic video on his Facebook page, where he walks through the renowned Comedy Store in Los Angeles and describes his experiences performing and watching other comedians there.
In November, Rock performed a brief set at the Apollo as a surprise opening act for Hannibal Buress -- just a few weeks after sealing a deal with Netflix for two new comedy specials.
"Hey, it's time," Rock said in his announcement. "I'm going on tour, I'm coming to your town, I've got all new material -- I can't wait to see you bitches."
Tickets for Total Blackout: The Tour go on sale Dec. 7.
