Microsoft is Watch Dark Fantasies (2010)about to make our fall a little more interesting.
The company on Friday sent out invites to press for a New York City product showcase on Oct. 26 at 10:00 a.m. ET, one that should illustrate the next wave of Windows innovation.
SEE ALSO: Windows 10 Anniversary Update is a no brainer installA year ago, Microsoft shocked the tech-watching public with its own Windows 10 laptop and hinge design -- the Surface Book. It also unveiled a new Surface Pro 4 and the Band 2 (RIP?). However, this event, sources tell us, will be tighter and more intimate. Though that does not mean it will be any less interesting.
For months there have been rumors that Microsoft was readying new Surface Phones as well as updates to the increasingly popular Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book. But our sources tell us that this may be something quite different.
We're hearing that HoloLens (probably for consumers), Xbox and new Windows PCs will be on hand and we may hear more about the eagerly-anticipated Xbox Project Scorpio game console.
If there are no phones, laptops or convertibles, then what, exactly does Microsoft have up its sleeve? You do not send out invitations to a New York City product event unless you're planning something big. Clearly, whatever it is will be designed to attract the consumer audience -- and the just-before-the-holidays timing can't be a coincidence.
Whatever Microsoft does introduce, Mashablewill be on hand to get you the juicy product details.
