Starved for their first championship since 1908,Horror Chicago Cubs fans are understandably invested in Wednesday night's World Series Game 7 against the Indians in Cleveland.
But one Cubs fan is really invested -- to the tune of nearly $50,000.

That's -- well, it depends on your perspective. But any way you slice it, that's a lot of money.
The massive purchase was first reported by Yahoo Sports.
About 60 percent of buyers on StubHub's secondary ticket market are traveling Cubs fans, according to the company. The median ticket price for Wednesday night's Game 7 was $1,823. The cheapest tickets, at $825, didn't even provide seats for the game -- they were for standing room only sections.
But, hey. A Cubs World Series appearance seems to come but once per lifetime. So Wednesday night is, as they say, a time to smoke 'em if you got 'em.
