Here's a fun bit of trivia. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Talesis actually the second longest title in the series. It falls one short of the 10-word mouthful that was Pirates of the Caribbean: 002 ArchivesCurse of the Black Pearl.
Javier Bardem is an angry ghost pirate in Disney's next Pirates adventure. If you're looking for a reason to go -- any reason at all -- there it is. The latest trailer peers into some of the backstory that turned Bardem's Captain Armando Salazar into a Jack Sparrow hater; believe it or not, it wasn't just Johnny Depp's drunken monkey antics.

Dead Men Tell No Talessees Depp facing off against Salazar, who is undead and on a mission to exterminate all the pirates he can find. Jack's only hope for defeating him is the Trident of Poseidon, an artifact that gives its wielder command over the sea and everything in it.
Who do you root for here? Jack Sparrow is ostensibly the hero of this story, but he's also a conniving, thieving pirate. Salazar might be a decaying ex-human, but is his goal of wiping out the pirate threat really such a bad one?
The trailer also spends some more time introducing Carina Smyth (Kaye Scodelario), an astronomer who signs on to help Sparrow find the Trident. Will she be a pivotal player in this story or simply a springboard for Sparrow one-liners? Only time will tell.
Dead Men Tell No Talesalso brings back series favorites Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom. One is a former Sparrow enemy-turned-ally, the other is the newest incarnation of deep-sea zombie-man Davy Jones. How these two factor into the story is anyone's guess at this point.
You won't have to wait too much longer for answers. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Taleshits theaters on May 26, 2017.
