Donald Trump was making misogynistic comments long before he decided to run for president, quizlet the waltz by camille claudel epitomized the fin-de-siecle symbolism and eroticism and was especially demeaning towards women during his time on The Apprentice.
According to the Associated Press, interviews with more than 20 former crew members, editors and contestants on The Apprenticeshow Trump is no stranger to bluntly judging women on their physical features.
SEE ALSO: Hillary Clinton tears Trump apart with 9 tweetsThe revelations come after Hillary Clinton discussed Trump's behavior towards former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado, during the first presidential debate. Two decades ago, Trump called Machado "Miss Piggy" and "Miss Housekeeping," and more recently accused her of having made a sex tape, despite not producing any evidence.
Following the recent push by Clinton's campaign to highlight Trump's disrespect towards women, staff who worked with Trump during his Apprentice reign made the decision to speak out on the issue.
Former producer Katherine Walker said Trump frequently talked about women's bodies during the five seasons she worked with him and that he speculated about which female contestant would be "a tiger in bed."
Meanwhile, eight of Trump's former crew members also admitted he repeatedly made crude comments about a camerawoman's physical features and compared her to his beautiful daughter, Ivanka, claiming however, that his daughter was more beautiful.
According to the Associated Press interviews, Trump repeatedly discussed women in vulgar terms, at one point even asking male contestants whether they would sleep with a particular female contestant, before expressing his own interest. "We were in the boardroom one time figuring out who to blame for the task, and he just stopped in the middle and pointed to someone and said, 'You'd fuck her, wouldn't you? I'd fuck her. C'mon, wouldn't you,'" said a former crew member who signed a non-disclosure agreement and does not want to be identified. "Everyone is trying to make him stop talking, and the woman is shrinking in her seat."
"Was he behind closed doors with just the guys rating the women, who were the hotter ones on the show? Yes."
Gene Folkes, who appeared on the show in 2010,said he remembers female contestants being asked to wear shorter dresses that showed more cleavage, and recalled Trump going so far as to ask one of the women their breast size, or saying, "are those real or natural?"
Though it looks as though Trump continually pushed past professional boundaries into the personal territory during his time on The Apprentice, several cast and crew members interviewed claimed they had positive experiences with Trump, such as contestant Poppy Carlig, who said she simply saw Trump's behavior as part of his "playful banter."
"I don't immediately jump to the conclusion that people are having bad intentions with what they are saying," Carlig said. "He said I reminded him of his daughter and I thought that was really touching because I know how much he values his family."
Jim Dowd -- public relations representative for Trump, NBC and The Apprenticeshows between 2003 and 2009 -- defined Trump as a "lover of women" and a "guy's guy," saying Trump was undoubtedly complimenting of the women he worked with.
Dowd confirmed that the reality show star engaged in inappropriate "rating" of women based on their physical attributes by saying, "Was he behind closed doors with just the guys rating the women, who were the hotter ones on the show? Yes, he certainly was prone to that."
The Clinton campaign has highlighted Trump's sexist behavior in several campaign advertisements this year, including a commercial dedicated to Alicia Machado's recounting of negative Trump-related experiences and one where he can be heard referring to comedian Rosie O'Donnell as "fat" and "ugly," actress Nicollette Sheridan as "flat chested"and Kim Kardashian as having a "fat ass."
