Waze has added yet another music service to its app with the integration of Amazon Music.
999 Archivesnavigation app announced the new inclusion on Tuesday, with Amazon's music streaming service set to roll out to all Waze apps immediately.
Instead of dangerously switching between apps while driving, users can now use Amazon Music within the Waze app while continuing to get directions.
It's the latest audio streaming partner for the Google-owned Waze, which began by integrating Spotify directly into its navigation app in 2017, before building a more full-featured Waze Audio Player the following year. The player now supports a handful of integrated audio apps on Android and iOS including TIDAL, TuneIn, YouTube Music, iHeartRadio, Deezer and more.
"Since we launched our Audio Player back in October 2018, Waze users have driven over 100 billion kilometers while listening to content from streaming services via our Audio Player,” said Adam Fried, head of global partnerships at Waze in a press statement. “We’re really excited to welcome Amazon Music into the Audio Player family."
Users can find Amazon Music in the Waze app by tapping the musical note icon and selecting their audio player of choice.
The integration will primarily benefit those with a Prime membership which includes Amazon Music with 2 million songs ad-free, or the premium tier, Amazon Music Unlimited, which ups the song count to 70 million. It's also useful for Amazon subscribers who haven't shelled out for an Echo Auto, which brings Amazon's Alexa into your car.
