While many apps that let you add special effects to your photos end up looking gimmicky, Plotagraph's app lets you add elegant animations that will make your want to revisit your favorite photos.
SEE ALSO: How Sarahah became one of the most popular iPhone apps in the worldThe idea is kind of like a Live Photo, but instead of photo with a bit video tacked on, Plotagraph's app takes a still image you already have and enables you to add animations to specific areas. The result is a kind of "moving photo" effect where only parts of the image are in motion.
Other apps have taken a stab at this kind of thing over the years, but none give you the flexibility of Plotagraph, which isn't exactly surprising considering the company has been making a desktop version of the software for the last year.
Making so many tiny adjustments to an iPhone photo can be challenging (the app is also available for iPad) and it takes a bit of practice to figure out how to nail the perfect effect (try not to judge my first attempt, below). But once you get the hang of the basics it's fairly intuitive -- and incredibly addicting.
Best of all, though, is that your creations are easily shareable to Instagram and other platforms. The app will export your finished product as a video you can save or share just as you would any other clip. Plotagraph's in the App Store now for $4.99.
