At least one superhero will surely die in Avengers: Infinity War. Captain America should be The Lusty Busty Babe-a-que (2008) full moviethe one to do it.
Captain America has had it too good for too long. He received free muscles. He got to leave the horrible internet-less 1940s and wake up in the golden era of content. He was given a shield that's basically indestructible. He's good-looking.
He must die.
SEE ALSO: So, who's going to die in 'Avengers: Infinity War'?The Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone on for too long without a meaningful death. The only deaths that have really happened have either been overturned or insignificant. Pepper Potts died but was brought back. Agent Coulson was killed and brought back. Wong was also killed and brought back. Quicksilver was shot to death and nobody cared.
We need a real death, and it needs to be someone that matters. It must be Captain America.
Captain America is not just an important superhero. He's a symbol of America, with his red, white, and blue costume and shield (along with his name). Not only that, he's the glue that keeps a lot of the Marvel heroes together.
His death would be devastating, but more importantly it would be necessary. The MCU needs to up its stakes in order to make people believe a villain is actually dangerous and make audiences fear for the safety of their favorite characters. People need to believe that it's possible for any character to die, or else the action just won't really be as captivating.
SEE ALSO: How 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' raises the stakes of the Marvel Cinematic UniverseTo date, almost nobody important has been killed and stayed dead. Marvel needs to take somebody important and beloved and destroy them in front of our eyes so that we know it can happen to anybody.
Captain America is that important and beloved character.
Cap's heart is always in the right place. He cares about the well-being of others. He is a clean-cut good old boy.
Sure, he got into a disagreement with some key players over what should happen with his good pal Bucky and sparked a mini civil war. But he meant well, and that's really what matters in the end.
SEE ALSO: Why Iron Man needs to die in 'Avengers: Infinity War'Captain America is an idealist, and his blind optimism and upbeat attitude have rarely come back to bite him.
He's too good for this world. And for that crime, he must die.
The very first time we see Cap is in the 2011 movie Captain America: The First Avenger, where it's established that he is the first superhero in the MCU (and also the oldest person on the Avengers, because he's technically over 90 years old).
He helped establish the Avengers and is a symbol of the world's first era of superhero team-ups. There will be future eras, and to make room for the new you have to get rid of the old. As one of the first to join the Avengers, he should be the first one to leave the Avengers.
And the only way to really cleanly leave the Avengers is to die forever.
Steve Rogers has held the Captain America title for too long. Someone else can take up the mantle.
The person doesn't even need to take the name Captain America. It could be a new captain, like Captain Marvel — someone who can be a leader and a symbol for the Avengers and the good that they do.
Sure, Captain America is great and all, but sometimes for a team to become stronger and build better bonds, characters need a tragedy. Through that tragedy, a new leader could be born.
The bottom line is: Captain America has to be the one to die. Whether Thanos crushes him to dust or punches a hole through his body, Cap's gotta go. His loss would impact the most people and rally them into a heart-wrenching redemption.
Someone needs to be avenged, and who better than the first Avenger?
