With the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxefor the Nintendo Switch just around the corner,About Target is getting in the Mario Kartspirit with tricked-out shopping carts.

There's no way this could go wrong, right?

Over 650 Target stores in the U.S. are getting decked out with Mario Kart-inspired shopping carts (also known as Super Target Karts), decorations, and a starting line-like entrance complete with black-and-white checkers, a lakitu, flashing lights, and music. The promotion starts today.

Target is basically giving you the green light to take shopping carts and race through the store as quickly as possibly. People will definitely be throwing things at each other.

Hopefully the participating stores hired some extra security to stop hardcore karting fans from getting a little too competitive and getting hurt in the process, otherwise this will be the first andlast time Target decorates its carts.

The promotion only lasts for a limited time -- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes out April 28 and Target may quickly realize that it will need to minimize the amount of damage its welcoming into its stores and shut the whole thing down prematurely.

In the meantime, get your karting fix in while you can.
