There's a lot to love in today's entertainment landscape,Anchorwoman A XXX Parody but sometimes we just want to know who's kissing and when. On-screen kisses asserted their legitimacy as much as all manner of intricate storytelling in 2018, and we will never not be grateful.
Here are the best kisses on TV and film this year – so far (spoilers).
SEE ALSO: The 10 best new shows of 2018 (so far)Jessica and Oscar are very good at kissing, but this scene gets a shoutout because they proceed to have sex with a lot of paint. Let this be a lesson to aspiring writers: Do not introduce a character who paints unless you are willing to get messy for the perfect kiss. Hollywood needs more paint sex!
The sweet story of one teenage boy's coming out and falling in love culminates in a finale and kiss that will thaw your cold, dead heart (spoken from experience). All of Simon's dashed hopes and disappointments become worth it in this one moment. Love is real, spread the news!
Dear White Peoplehas its fair share of love triangles, rectangles, and maybe even pentagons at this point. (“Technically all of us have kissed,” Logan Browning told costars Antoinette Robertson and Ashley Blaine Featherson while visiting Mashable in April.) We saw the first seeds of Joelle’s feelings for Reggie in Season 1, while she watched him pine fruitlessly after Sam. In Season 2, Reg starts to see Joelle for the power woman that she is, culminating in a pivotal kiss and beautifully filmed sex scene back in her dorm.
These two have been to hell and back (or as close as you can get), and through Michael's many resets they couldn't help finding a way back to each other. Now at risk of possibly never seeing each other again, Chidi goes against his chronic indecision and plants a big one on her in the Judge's chambers. Hot diggity dog!
Speaking of social dichotomy and forbidden love, we spent a lot of Runawaysfeeling for some unrequited crushes and becoming thoroughly invested in them. Nico and Karolina are working through their sexuality while also dealing with the fact that their parents totally abduct people for a living. As an added bonus, this square also had Gert and Chase hook up mid-heist while alone with no company but their hormones. There is kissing! There was sex! Go forth, my new ships!
After three seasons of missed connections and poorly timed relationships, timing might actually be on Jonah and Amy's side – except that she's pregnant with her ex's baby. She visits Jonah in the storage room to break the news and to do at least one thing she wants before life spins out of control again: She kisses him.
These two kiss a lot during the season, so there’s a lot to choose from. Though it comes at a tricky time in their relationship, there’s definitely a sexy secrecy to their janitors’ closet rendezvous in the middle episodes. Now if they could just get it together and date, we’d be in business!
Everything Sucks!was tragically canceled after its only season, which is a real shame because of the honest and prominent storyline of Kate and Emmaline coming to terms with their queer identity. Over the course of several episodes, these two teens from different social circles find themselves drawn to each other physically and emotionally, culminating in a sweet, cautious kiss. We wish them all the best.
Most of Netflix’sIbizahinges upon our investment in these two and our desire to see them kiss, and when it finally happens, it doesn’t disappoint. They kiss fervently, passionately, but with the unmistakable rhythm of two people with excellent physical chemistry. There's a reason Leah tells Harper "You reek of sex" the next morning...
